About me

I’m Phil Walsh. I am a facilitator, trainer and coach based in Oxford UK. I’m also a Dad of two, a husband of one and a cricket fanatic. I have a natural curiosity in everything I do which often helps people to question their own thinking and develop new opinions. It’s this curiosity that led me to learning and development.

Prior to moving to full time facilitation, I held a Directorship at a Learning and Development Agency responsible for the global sales and marketing function. I managed client relationships with some of the world’s largest and most prestigious organisations.

During my working life, I have been fortunate enough to have regularly worked with audiences at many different levels. I’ve facilitated for senior global executives from multinational companies. I’ve coached senior partners from top 10 global law firms. I’ve developed events for first level leaders at the dotcom division of one the UK’s biggest retailers. I’ve designed and delivered virtual classroom sessions connecting business leaders to students. I’ve even run activities for festival goers.

All these experiences have made me an extremely flexible presenter. I am able to tailor my delivery style to suit the situation, audience and, most crucially, the outcomes required.

I regularly facilitate events with multi-national and cross-cultural delegates. I have experience of working not only in the UK and Europe, but in India, China, Singapore and North America too. I bring these experiences and cultural awareness to my facilitation across the UK and mixed nationality programmes across Europe. I have also fostered a unique and talented associate network across the globe, and use my global community of facilitators to translate and transpose events into multiple languages and locations.

I studied to become a Master Practitioner in NLP and use this in all my facilitation and 1-2-1 coaching to maximise impact and performance.

I am committed to my own personal development and continue to attend courses and lectures as well as further reading especially in the fields of NLP, neuroscience, clean language and coaching.

If you asked most people who know me to describe me in three words they’d say I’m enthusiastic, positive and passionate.

Over the last twelve years I’ve been fortunate enough to make my passion for people my business. And more recently, my passion for people within purpose-led organisations has become the main focus of my time.

My business, Walsh’s Learning to Achieve, has achieved B Corp™ status to show my commitment to businesses that balance purpose and profit.

Alongside the work I do with my talented associate team at WLTA, I volunteer in the business partnerships team at Oxfam GB, and am a trustee of a charity - Awamu - helping women and children in the slums of Kampala.

I help people learn, but not just learning for learning's sake. I am eternally enthusiastic about learning that creates real world benefits. Learning that sticks. Learning that is enjoyable, memorable and implementable. I love learning - learning done right - and it's a privilege to make it my profession.

“Phil is one of very few first class workshop leaders. He has a fairly rare ability to engage, enliven and motivate to the extent that the day is gone before you knew it started. It's a whirlwind of thought-provoking, educational fun and I would highly recommend him to drive change, motivation and spirit in your workforce in a way that's truly engaging and memorable”

“So much more than a safe pair of hands! Phil organised a particularly complex event for Oxfam where agendas, cultures, and levels of enthusiasm collided. I hugely appreciated his thoughtful creativity in designing it, and his boundless energy in facilitating it. He even brought the 100-or so delegates to a mutually agreed conclusion at the end, and gave us an event to remember and be glad we were part of.”
